What is Nonwoven?
Nonwoven is a sheet made by laying fibers into a random web and then entangling/bonding them via layering, adhesion and pressure. It is called “nonwoven” because it is not constructed by warp & weft yarn weaving.
Nonwoven Forming Process
- Fiber: material selection & blending; functional additives optional.
- Web: random or oriented web formation.
- Combine: needle-punch, thermal bonding, or resin bonding.
- 2nd process / Add functionality: impregnation, lamination, calendering, cutting.
- Final product: supplied in roll/sheet with documented lot control.
